Nursery Paedophile's Family Urge Confession

11:28am UK, Sunday October 04, 2009

The husband of nursery paedophile Vanessa George has branded her "cold, calculating scum" - and urged her to end parents' misery by telling police which children she abused.

Sex beast Vanessa George hides her face in prison van

Andrew George, 41, told the News of the World he would never let the 39-year-old sex offender see their children again.

The gas fitter also revealed how his wife's crimes have shattered their family - driving him to near suicide as he struggles to understand her actions.

"I just can't believe the woman I used to love, and gave 20-odd years of my life to, has done this," he said.

"I call her the monster now. She's evil. Pure evil. And the kids don't want anything to do with her."

His wife abused and took sick pornographic photos of kids as young as 18 months old at Little Ted's nursery in Plymouth, where she worked.

The full details of the crimes she admitted are too graphic to report.

The children in her photographs have never been identified.

Mr George said: "I would say to Vanessa 'If you have a single shred of decency left in your soul you should do the right thing and co-operate with the police and end the torment of the families who still don't know if their children have been abused'."

In a series of interviews with the Sunday tabloid, he compares his wife's evil to that of Moors murderer Myra Hindley.

He reveals how:

:: He was forced to ask his own kids if their mother had abused them

:: The shame of his wife's crimes drove him to consider taking his life

:: He believes George is a modern-day Myra Hindley driven by obsession, and

:: Her disturbing lack or remorse, and astonishing phone and prison conversations.

Mr George is now raising his two daughters, Pearl, 15, and Grace, 13, on his own as his wife awaits a lengthy jail sentence.

He added: "What she has done at that nursery school is worse than murder. It's against young innocents. The details I've heard are disgusting."

Daughter Pearl said her mother was "an OK mum at first".

"She used to take us shopping and buy us sweets and treats after school," she said.

"But we didn't realise how little she was doing by the end and how messy the house was. It was like she wanted to turn away from us and stopped making the effort."

Vanessa George and two accomplices last week pleaded guilty to carrying out a string of sex attacks on children.

She admitted seven counts of sexual abuse and six counts of distributing and making indecent pictures of children.

Co-defendants Angela Allen and Colin Blanchard also admitted a string of charges relating to assault and child pornography.

The trio will be sentenced on November 13

Janice McCormack, 60, calls the ghost "Reedy" after legendary British actor and boozer Oliver Reed and says he has been haunting the Apsley House in Southsea, Hampshire, since she took over the lease 10 years ago.

And she claims since January the generous ghoul has been mysteriously topping up regulars' glasses and costing her a fortune, Britain's Daily Mail reports.

"I know it sounds strange," Ms McCormack said. "But it happens when customers pop to the toilet or put their pint down for a second, when they turn around there is an extra inch of beer."

Ms McCormack said her regulars "love it" but claimed the ghost was costing her a fortune as customers weren't paying for as much booze.

"We are getting more people through the door but it seems to be people expecting a cheap, never-ending pint," she said.

Florida Police: Kids Walk 2 Miles After Mom Passes Out Drunk in Minivan

Saturday, October 03, 2009

COOPER CITY, Fla. —  Authorities say a South Florida woman got behind the wheel of her minivan and passed out drunk, leaving her two young children to wander nearly two miles away from their home barefoot.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies say the 3-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl were in the minivan with Brenda Lee Duclos Wednesday. Investigators say the children wandered off after a couple of hours. They were uninjured.

Deputies say Duclos was going to pick up her eldest child from school when she passed out.

She is charged with driving under the influence and child neglect. She refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test. Duclos was released on bond Friday, according to the sheriff's Web site.

Duclos' husband, Joseph, said his wife "did a stupid thing."

911 Caller in N.Y. Wrong-Way Crash: 'The Kids Are Bleeding'

MyFOX New York obtained a 911 call made immediately after the horrific July wrong-way collision on the Taconic State Parkway near New York City that left eight dead, including four children.

Motorists frantically dialed for emergency response after Long Island mother Diane Schuler, 36, drove down the wrong side of the highway and slammed head-on into an SUV. Autopsy and toxicology reports confirmed that Schuler was drunk and high on marijuana at the time.

In the recording, a panicked motorist tries to tell the operator where the crash happened before a second person takes the phone and confirms, "Yeah, there's a whole bunch of kids. Honestly the car is smashed... It's really bad. The kids are bleeding."

Schuler's blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit at the time of the July 26 wreck and she still had undigested alcohol in her stomach, police said. Blood tests also showed she had smoked marijuana 15 minutes to an hour before the crash.

The fiery head-on crash, about 35 miles northwest of New York City, killed Schuler, her 2-year-old daughter, three young nieces and three men in the SUV. Schuler's 5-year-old son survived. Investigators said Schuler had been driving erratically on other suburban roads before hitting the Taconic Parkway.

A broken, 1.75-liter bottle of Absolut vodka was found in the wrecked minivan.

Six drivers called 911 before the collision, which happened after Schuler drove 1.7 miles south in the parkway's northbound lane.

Police: Massachusetts Couple Beats Man at KFC Over Slow Order

Saturday, October 03, 2009

NORWELL, Mass. —  A couple, upset over the slowness of their Kentucky Fried Chicken order, assaulted a man who asked them to stop yelling profanities for the sake of children in line, police said.

Police said the couple was arrested Thursday after witnesses told police the couple beat the man as he was leaving the fast food joint.

According to police, 31-year-old Jared Garfagna, of Marshfield, punched the man in the head, then Garfagna's girlfriend, 24-year-old Sara Mohn, kicked the victim.

Mohn was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Garfagna will be summonsed to court for assault and battery. It's unclear if either have hired an attorney.

The victim had cuts on his eyelid and wrists but refused medical treatment.

The last Jew in Afghanistan: Caretaker of Kabul synagogue survives conflict with good luck, whisky and donations from friendly Muslims

Last updated at 3:28 PM on 04th October 2009

Zebulon Simentov lives, eats and prays alone as he is the last known Jew in a country dominated by conservative Muslim culture.

Mr Simentov is the caretaker and sole member of Afghanistan's only working synagogue. The last eight or nine Jewish families left after the 1979 Soviet invasion, he said.

Fond of whisky and aged about 50, Mr Simentov lives in the dilapidated two-story synagogue in Kabul and gets by on donations from Jews abroad and sympathetic local Muslims.

In the late 19th century, Afghanistan's Jews numbered about 40,000, many of them Persian Jews who had fled forced conversion in neighboring Iran.

Beginning with an exodus to Israel after it became a state in 1948, the community has been in decline ever since.

Mr Simentov's wife and children moved to Israel years ago, but he stayed even through the Taliban regime.

Though Mr Simentov has a Muslim friend who visits a few times a week, he spends most of his days in the company of his pet partridge, reading a Hebrew prayer book and watching Afghan TV

He was born in the western Afghan city of Herat in 1959 and says Afghanistan is home.

But having survived numerous beatings under the Taliban, he now only wears his yarmulke, or skullcap, in private.

Until 2005, Mr Simentov shared the house with one other Jew, but the two feuded and lobbed allegations at each other of having let a sacred Torah scroll go missing and of having spread rumours that resulted in Taliban beatings.

When his 80-year-old housemate died, Mr Simentov said he was happy to be rid of him.
